Purpose of This Policy

This policy describes how Toronto Health School collects, uses, and protects personal information in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
We are committed to respecting privacy and ensuring responsible data practices.

Collection of Personal Information

Toronto Health School collects personal information only when it is authorized by law, necessary for the administration of a program or activity, and voluntarily provided by the individual. Examples may include:
▪Contact details (name, email, phone, mailing address)
▪Academic or application-related information
▪Device and browser data for website analytics

Individuals are informed, at the point of collection, of the legal authority under which the information is collected, the purpose for its collection, and how it will be used, as required by applicable privacy laws.

Use and Disclosure of Information

Personal information will only be used or disclosed for its original or a directly related purpose, with consent and as required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information. Aggregated, non-identifiable data may be shared for institutional reporting or service improvement.

Data Retention

Toronto Health School retains personal information and student records in accordance with the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005, Ontario Regulation 415/06, and relevant privacy legislation. Records are securely stored and destroyed or anonymized when no longer required.

Student Privacy Upon Withdrawal

When a student withdraws from a program, personal information collected during application or enrollment is managed according to our data protection and retention practices. Students may request the return or secure deletion of their personal data, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Safeguarding Your Privacy

We protect personal information through secure storage systems, access controls and staff training and breach prevention and response protocols. Privacy breaches meeting the threshold of significant harm are reported to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.

Access and Correction

Individuals may request access to their personal information, request correction of inaccurate records, or submit concerns about denied requests to the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Policy Updates

Updates to this policy will be posted on our website. When changes are significant, we will notify affected individuals directly when possible.
